The GKA Math program follows the curriculum mandated by the Ministry of Education. However, the medium of instruction is English. Teaching aids such as textbooks, references and other instructional materials are in English, too. Each lesson is enriched and expanded upon so as to cater to the needs of all types of learners. Concepts are presented and conducted in the experiential way to develop students as critical thinkers. This goal is achieved through individual and group activities and the application of varied problem solving strategies and discovery approaches.
The wide-range and varied experiences of the foreign teachers give the students the opportunity to learn Math in different ways. Japanese and foreign teachers team teach in the lower grades. Worksheets and workbooks in Japanese language are also utilized from 1st to 6th grade to ensure understanding of concepts in both languages.
