1月30日（金）、特別行事「GKA万博」が行われました。初等部に所属する10カ国からの教員が、行事委員会の児童とともに、それぞれの出身国を紹介するブースを設けました。子どもたちは、各パビリオンをめぐり、各国の展示品を見学し、文化について学び、活動に参加しました。参加国はブータン、カナダ、イングランド、インド、日本、ニュージーランド、フィリピン、南アフリカ、アメリカ、ジンバブエでした。

このユニークな学習体験は、大阪万博が開催された同年度に実施され、子どもたちはとても楽しんでいました。GKA万博は、参加者が他文化に触れ、交流する機会となったことでしょう。

On Friday, January 30th, GKA hosted a special exposition for our students.  Each of the 10 home countries for our GKA teachers was featured at its own kiosk.  Students moved from pavilion to pavilion, looking at items from each country, learning about the country’s culture, and participating in cultural activities.  The countries represented were Bhutan, Canada, England, India, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines, South Africa, United States and Zimbabwe.

Students enjoyed this unique learning experience, held the same year that Osaka also hosted the World Expo.  Our GKA Expo gave everyone an opportunity to learn and play with other cultures.
