群馬県リバースメンター選出!/GKA Students Selected as Gunma Prefecture Reverse Mentors!
https://www.shoukasonjuku.com/
The Gunma Prefecture Reverse Mentor Program provides high school students with opportunities to exchange ideas directly with the Governor and discuss public policies. Through these experiences, students gain a deeper understanding of social issues and the role of government, while reflecting on their own future paths and the kind of lives they hope to lead. In some cases, their proposals can even contribute to actual prefectural policies.
This year, many GKA students took on the challenge, and we are proud to announce that Yui Aizaki (Grade 10) and Taisei Shibuki (Grade 11) have been selected as Reverse Mentors.
[Student Reflections]
Grade 10 – Yui Aizaki
“My proposal focuses on reducing smartphone addiction among students in Gunma Prefecture. Although I still have much to learn, I hope to refine my ideas through the Reverse Mentor Program and work together with the prefectural government and the Governor to help address this issue. In the future, I want to contribute, even in a small way, to solving social problems.”
Grade 11 – Taisei Shibuki
“Across Japan, extracurricular sports activities are being transferred to community organizations as part of work-style reform. However, the systems and support structures are still inadequate, and students at schools without strong sports programs often face the greatest difficulty in continuing their activities. Without school clubs, there are fewer opportunities to practice and compete, and dedicated students may lose the chance to pursue their passion. I would like to propose a sustainable system led by the prefecture that develops local sports clubs and inter-school communities while ensuring fair compensation for coaches and instructors. This is my first time participating in a project outside of school, so there is much to learn, but I will do my best while working together with my fellow participants.”
At GKA, our students value their everyday learning and actively seek out opportunities to challenge themselves. Whether or not they are selected, we hope to continue fostering GKA as a base for learning where students feel encouraged to take on new challenges and grow through their experiences.
