Grade 6: Art Appreciation Class

絵画鑑賞教室

　群馬県立近代美術館の職員の方々をお招きし、6年生児童に対して、絵画鑑賞教室を開催しました。

　今回は、専門家による一方的な解説ではなく、子どもたち自身が作品と向き合い、感じたことや考えたことを自由に表現できるような工夫が凝らされました。職員の方々は、子どもたちの素朴な疑問やユニークな視点に耳を傾け、子どもたちの中から鑑賞のヒントを引き出すような働きかけをしてくださいました。

　子どもたちは、自分たちの言葉で作品について語り合い、新たな発見や感動を共有している様子でした。主体的に作品と関わることで、絵画鑑賞の楽しさを存分に味わえたようです。

The other day, we invited staff members of the Museum of Modern Art, Gunma to hold a painting appreciation class for our Grade 6 students.

This time, instead of a one-way commentary by experts, the children were given the opportunity to face the paintings themselves and express their feelings and thoughts freely. The staff members listened to the children’s simple questions and unique perspectives, and encouraged them to draw out hints for appreciation from within them.

The children talked about the works in their own words, sharing their new discoveries and impressions. It seems that the children were able to fully enjoy the pleasure of viewing paintings through their proactive involvement with the artworks.
