G10 – 『羅生門』文学模擬裁判 / Literary Mock Trial: Rashomon

今年度の10年生の国語では、『羅生門』の学習において、文学模擬裁判の形式を取り入れた授業を行っております。弁護人・検察官・裁判官といった役割を通して登場人物の視点を捉え直し、多角的に考えながら論理的に判断する力を育てることを目的とした活動です。

生徒たちは、9年生の社会科で司法に関する学習の際、模擬裁判を経験しており、その学びが国語の授業にも自然につながっています。既習のスキルを別教科で活用することで、生徒たちはより深く思考し、表現することができています。

実際の授業では、登場人物の下人や老婆の心理や置かれた状況、当時の社会背景について、言動や行動などから具体的かつ精緻に読み取る姿が見られました。単なる内容理解にとどまらず、事実や根拠に基づいて自らの考えを構築する力が着実に伸びているように感じております。

教科横断的な学びを通して、知識とスキルを結びつけ、思考を深めていく実践の一例としてご紹介しました。

In this year’s Grade 10 Japanese classes, we are incorporating a mock trial format into our study of “Rashomon”(Japanese literature). Through taking on roles such as defense attorney, prosecutor, and judge, students revisit the perspectives of the characters and develop their ability to think from multiple angles and make logical judgments.

Students previously experienced a mock trial in their Grade 9 I &S class as part of their learning about the judicial system, and that learning has naturally carried over into Japanese class. By applying previously acquired skills across subjects, students are able to think more deeply and express their ideas more effectively.

In the classroom, students demonstrated careful and detailed reading of the characters—particularly the servant and the old woman—by analyzing their words and actions, as well as considering their psychological states, circumstances, and the social context of the time. Moving beyond basic comprehension, students are steadily developing the ability to construct their own interpretations based on evidence and reasoning.

We share this as an example of cross-curricular learning, where knowledge and skills are connected to deepen students’ thinking.
